My husband and I just closed on our first rental. He is painting and replacing the carpet so we can find a renter. It should be ready to rent by Christmas. We have never been landlords before and are nervous about finding a good tenant who will pay the rent and not damage the house. I guess I need to find somewhere to buy credit reports. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you so much!

The fact that you are nervous is a good thing. I know you feel a sense of urgency to find a tenant. But I encourage you to take some time and educate yourself about the in's and out's of the business of being a landlord, before you rent to someone. There are lots of great information on the Internet, but be careful and verify anything you read with other sources. My blog has some articles that will help you get started.

When you are ready to purchase a credit report let me know and I will email you some good sources. Thanks for the note and good luck!
